Hi everyone!
Here's the skinny on A Love Like This, the third and final installment of The Remembrance Trilogy! Ryan and Julia are running around in my head and racing onto the written page, I promise, and I'm about 60-70% finished with the book! Read the back cover blurb here.
I apologize for not being able to get it to you last fall like I wanted to, but as I've said, my mother was very ill for most of 2012 and my father was living with me and Olivia while my mother was in the hospital for ten months. When she finally did get some better, it was the busy time at my full time job selling diamonds, so I just didn't have as much time to write as I wanted. I don't want to rush and so have the writing be less than it might otherwise be, so I pray for your understanding and patience.
Last October, I had offers of representation by two New York City literary agencies. (SQUEE!) Just a few years ago, you couldn't get a book published with a major publisher without an agent. Publishers relied on agents to navigate the mass of book submissions to find the marketable books before the manuscript ever hit the publishers desk.
I tried the traditional route and had decent success, but almost two years later I still wasn't published. My readers were disappointed that they still didn't have The Future of Our Past or Don't Forget to Remember Me back so I self-published. It was never my dream to self-pub, but I had to trust that the book was good enough to stand on it's own. I'm so grateful for the support I've received from readers, other authors and the many book blogs that have reviewed and continue to ask me to post.
The rest, as they say is history! I was contacted by three literary agencies and one major publisher. I flew to New York for meetings with two of the agencies and the publisher, and I'm happy to announce I picked the agency I felt could best represent my vision for my characters and what you, my readers, want to see in my writing. :-)
I signed with Ms. Elizabeth Winick-Rubinstein of McIntosh and Otis and I trust her to find the best home for the trilogy and my future works. She's awesome! She and her assistant, Shira, were very warm, enthused and helpful! Liz doesn't do a lot of social media, but I'm going to encourage her. I'd love for you all to meet her!
I'll post teasers and updates, the first of which is coming this month on Book Crush. I don't have an exact date from her, but she's giving away a LOAD of free books, including mine, and a Kindle Fire.
Also, I am sorry it's taken me so long, but I haven't forgotten about the Outtake I promised from Beyond Twilight. It's almost finished. :-)
Thank you for all the love and support you've shown!
Love ya!
~Kahlen
